Super Summer Workshops!

Rushden Town Council have been pleased to host a series of free workshops including Circus Skills, African Drumming, Olympic Dance and Birds of Prey, to children during the first four weeks of the summer holidays, to provide fun and entertainment.

Each workshop ran throughout the day, offering 180 free places to children at each event.

Kicking off with Olympic dance, the event provided a delightful experience for all participants as they enjoyed learning and performing Olympic inspired dance routines.

This was followed by an engaging session of African drumming, where children noisily learned to develop rhythm whilst learning from their skilful instructor.

The entertainment continued with Circus Skills, where children learned to spin plates, and other circus skills.

The final week was an amazing encounter with birds of prey. The children had the chance to meet a young barn owl, watch a kestrel fly and get very close up to a magnificent eagle owl.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the sessions were delighted to receive certificates to mark the event. Parents commented on the quality of the workshops and praised the workshop tutors for keeping the children so well informed and entertained.

Rushden Town Council were pleased to fund these workshops as part of their Community Events programme. This programme either organises events run by the Town Council or provides support for organisations wishing to host their own events.
