π Rushden's Christmas Lights Switch-On: A Magical Start to the Festive Season π
Rushden Town Council was thrilled to host the annual Christmas Lights Switch-On in Rushden High Street on Saturday. The event was a fantastic celebration of community spirit and festive cheer, drawing an incredible crowd of residents and visitors to mark the official start of Christmas.
Santa, Mrs. Christmas, and their cheerful elf were as popular as ever, spreading joy and delighting children with their warm and festive presence. Adding to the magic, free face painting was available, and the crowd was captivated by the spectacular antics of Titan the Robot , who entertained everyone throughout the event with his amusing performances.
Live music by Johnathon and James Reynolds, along with vibrant performances from local groups, added to the magical atmosphere, showcasing the community's talent and festive spirit. As always, the reindeer stole the show, bringing a touch of Christmas enchantment and spreading the true spirit of the season.
A huge thank you to all the high street traders, stallholders, supporting businesses, and charities whose contributions made the event a resounding success. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Wesleyan Church, Beat Route Radio for their excellent broadcasting and compering, and to Medisec Ltd for ensuring everyone's safety.
We also want to express our deepest appreciation to the hardworking staff, councillors, and volunteers who have dedicated countless hours throughout the year to ensure Rushden is beautifully 'lit up for Christmas.'
